Why we’re building it.
A day rarely unfolds as a tidy list of tasks. A conversation raises a question. A question becomes a project. A plan changes, and the next decision depends on what came before.
We think a personal agent should be designed around that continuity. Our ambition is to make it easier to move from understanding something to doing something with it, with the person’s intentions guiding the work.
That is why Protention has a broad remit. Work, learning, planning, and creative projects belong to the same life. The agent should have room for all of them.
A sense of
what’s next.
In the philosophy of Edmund Husserl, protention describes our anticipation of the next moment. While listening to a melody, we hear each note with a sense that another is about to follow.
The name gives our work a direction: an agent attentive to what is happening now, and useful as the next question, decision, or possibility takes shape.

Sidiora Labs is an applied research and engineering lab building agent systems and the infrastructure around them. Its work spans agent memory, continuity, and the environments in which agents operate.
Protention brings that interest into a personal setting. We’re asking how an agent can become useful in everyday life, with an interface people already understand and a clear place for their judgment.
What guides the product.
Start with conversation.
SMS, iMessage, and phone calls are the starting point for the experience. We want asking for help to feel as natural as sending a message or talking something through.
Keep the person in charge.
A useful agent needs direction. Our design priorities are clear choices, understandable boundaries, and room for people to review and redirect the work.

Protention is in an invitation beta. You can join the waitlist, or use your invitation to begin in the app. This is an early version of the product, with more work ahead.
